Introduction

Crescent Rentals is a trusted, veteran-owned event rental business based in Chapin, South Carolina, serving Columbia and surrounding areas. Known for its clean equipment and reliable service, the company needed a website that reflected its professionalism, community-driven values, and streamlined rental process.

As the lead designer and developer, I was tasked with building a user-friendly, responsive site that showcases the full rental catalog, communicates trust, and simplifies the customer journey from browsing to booking.

The website aimed to:

  • Establish credibility through clean design, clear messaging, and customer testimonials.

  • Make it easy for users to explore rental products and request quotes.

  • Communicate Crescent’s core values: veteran-owned, dependable service, and local expertise.

  • Optimize the site for mobile and desktop with fast loading speeds and accessible design.

  • Enable product browsing, quoting, and education via blogs and FAQs.


Research & Strategy

To create a solution tailored to the local market and customer expectations, I conducted:

  • Competitor Research: Analyzed local and national event rental providers to identify pain points and gaps in user experience.

  • Client Interviews: Collaborated with the founder to define brand tone—warm, reliable, and community-focused.

  • User Flow Mapping: Created a frictionless browsing → selection → quote request journey.

  • Persona Development: Built around two core personas: Event Planners and First-Time Hosts.

Our strategy emphasized trust-building content, fast access to product info, and clear next steps (quote requests, contact).
